This Washington, D.C. quintet signed with Motown Records in the early ‘70s and had limited success on the Soul and Pop charts with such tracks as “Shoe Shoe Shine” (produced by Ashford and Simpson), “Leave It Alone”, “Romeo”, “Cry When You Want To”, “Release Me” and “I Got Away”. Though not as vocally dynamic as The Four Tops or The Temptations, they were excellent showmen with energetic and inventive choreography. They were also unique in that they sported a gay lead singer (who often did his shows in drag!), Tony Washington. Soon after their departure from Motown, the group headed for the New Jersey studios of Tony Camillo who produced the 12 tracks heard on this album. Dynamic Superiors fans and Soul enthusiasts the world over will embrace these jammin' tracks from this talented group. — Gene Serina
